With Autumn now upon us, our seasonal menu focus moves more towards hearty dishes and comfort food. Rich deep flavours of roasted meats, root vegetables, thyme and garlic. Great care and effort has been placed on selecting the best quality cuts of meat for the Sunshine Coast Hotels group. Trusted brands sourced from around Australia have been selected for their flavour, tenderness and texture. All beef products are aged for a minimum of 40 days, hormone and antibiotic free and importantly, raised to the highest animal welfare standards with full traceability. The Green Shed is a small farm located in Palmwoods, where Sharon Koski and her family grow the most brilliant micro herbs, miniature leaves, edible flowers, shoots and baby vegetables. Reuben Jennings and his family proudly operate Kingfisher Meadow Farm, also based in Palmwoods. This season, Reuben supplies us with 5 different lettuce varieties for our salad mix which is picked before sunrise and delivered the very same day. Both farms use only organic fertiliser and no herbicides or pesticides. This season’s wine list has been expanded to include some more choice with the growth in popularity of Pinot Gris/Grigio, Rosé and Shiraz varietals. We introduce you to a cracking Rosé from Provence, France, called Rameau d’Or as well as a New Zealand Pinot Gris and a preservative free Shiraz from McLaren Vale. We offer seating for 370 guests, including up to 70 in our private dining room, The Birdcage. Please contact us on 5413 2200 to make a booking. This summer, we are very excited to be adding two fantastic new local companies to the Parklands kitchen. Our steak cuts on the summer menu have been hand selected to demonstrate a range of the very best quality of premium Australian beef. Either grain or grass fed, all of our beef is aged for a minimum of 42 days, MSA standard, genetically modified free and hormone free. Our wine list has been expanded this season and has been selected by our panel of four wine lovers who are tasked to identify the best drinking wines of the current vintage which deliver our customers real value for money. Former Bluetongue CEO and Head of Brewing have launched a new brand, QuickDraw.
100% Australian owned and brewed, they have produced 2 brews - Lager and Pale Ale. The brews are recipes of Master Brewer, Bruce Peachey, one of only 3 master brewers in Australia! Parklands Tavern is one of only 3 Sunshine Coast Hotels with this beer on tap so head on down and try today. The Pale Ale has been created as a lighter-bodied and also highly drinkable Australian style, but also using American hops to give this Pale a subtle citrus flavour. The beer is brewed using a combination of hops, Australian Pride of Ringwood hops for smooth bitterness and American Citra for flavour and aroma. It is medium bittered at around 20BU. This bitterness is balanced with malt sweetness through the use of a combination of all Australian malts married with the selection of hops. Some caramel wheat malt has been used for smoothness and also to enhance the beers foam. It is medium amber in colour with a dense foam that exhibits some cling in the glass. This Pale Ale has a crisp, clean finish, lingering flavour and is very refreshing and a great match with seafood! 4.5% ABV. We are very pleased to announce that we have been successful in being selected as Finalists in this year's Sunshine Coast Business and Tourism Awards.
